Selena Gomez Falls Off Stage, But Only YouTube Notices (Video)

Singer Selena Gomez fell offstage in a small mishap during a concert in Virginia, but apparently only someone making a YouTube video of the young pop star's performance noticed.

It was an easily missed accident on Oct. 10 at the Patriot Center in Fairfax, Va., at the end of her star's song "Slow Down" which she performed with back up dancers. As seen in a YouTube video (below), Gomez appeared to slip from the main stage to a smaller stage, but did not miss a beat, shaking hands with audience members as she completed the performance.

Gomez's Virginia concert was part of her Stars Dance Tour, which is promoting her latest album that was released in July, according to US Weekly. The former Disney child star reached No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 200 chart for the first time with the album.

The "Star Dance" album sold 97,000 units in its debut week, according to US Weekly, Gomez's fourth and most successful album to date. Gomez is also trying to balance a budding acting career as well, co-starring with Ethan Hawke in the movie "Getaway," which rolled out Labor Day weekend.

The celebrity newspaper Variety reported, though, that "Getaway" was a disappointment at the box office.

"Despite 'Spring Breakers' becoming a surprise indie hit earlier this year, Selena Gomez has yet to convert her Disney cachet into major box office coin," wrote Variety's Andrew Stewart. "Her Labor Day weekend actioner 'Getaway' is poised to putter past the starting line with a projected debut well under $10 million."

"Gomez’s most ardent fans could push the Warner Bros.-Dark Castle film toward $6 million-$8 million over four days, making it the young star’s lowest-grossing wide opening to date," Stewart added.

"Getaway," which also stars Oscar-winner Jon Voight, was produced on an $18 million budget but has only made $10.5 million at the box office so far, according to BoxOfficeMojo.com.

In contrast, the independent "Spring Breakers," starring James Franco and fellow Disney alum Vanessa Hudgens, pulled in $14.1 million domestically and another $17.6 million overseas against a $5 million production budget, reported BoxOfficeMojo.com. "Spring Breakers" was released in March.

Gomez, who made past headlines for her on-and-off relationship with singer Justin Bieber, recently admitted that she feels like a "third wheel" as a young single while hanging out with friends, according to EntertainmentWise.com.
