Federal investigators say a pilot taking selfies may have contributed to a small plane crash near Denver that killed two men.
Pilot Amritpal Singh, 29, and his passenger were killed in the May 31 crash.
The National Transportation Safety Board found evidence of a pattern of the pilot taking
selfies and possibly texting during flights above Front Range Airport, USA Today said. A camera mounted on the windshield of Singh's Cessna 150K didn’t record the flight in which the crash occurred, but did record other flights in which selfies were taken.
"It is likely that cellphone use during the accident flight distracted the pilot and contributed to the development of special disorientation and subsequent loss of control," the NTSB said.
"Selfies would be by definition distraction,"
NTSB spokesman Eric told The Associated Press.
The NTSB report noted that the use of cell phone cameras also included
using the flash at night, CBS Denver reported.
