Shaquille O'Neal is apparently a 9/11 conspiracy theorist, based on a Thursday post on his personal website and verified Facebook page — both of which have now been deleted.
The New York Post reported that the NBA legend and TNT host was promoting "a close-up video" that calls into question whether the World Trade Center was attacked by terrorists on September 11, 2001.
"Supposedly the materials that the buildings are made of wouldn’t allow a plane to slice through it as cleanly as Flight 175 did," read part of the blog post.
"This might make you think twice . . . what do you think?" read the Facebook post.
As NJ.com pointed out, the YouTube video embedded in the post was uploaded by a user who also offers conspiracy theories about the Sandy Hook Elementary School shooting, the assassination attempt on Rep. Gabrielle Giffords, and the Boston Marathon bombings.
Many fans reacted negatively to Shaq's postings, saying they've lost respect for him and that his post could cause the families of the 9/11 victims more grief. Perhaps that is why both postings were deleted after a short time.
Before being deleted, many users took screenshots of the article, Facebook post and embedded YouTube video, and circulated them on social media sites like Twitter.
