Sherri Shepherd has answered estranged husband Lamar Sally's formal request for a legal separation by filing
divorce papers of her own, TMZ reports.
Co-host of "The View," Shepherd, 47, filed her petition in New Jersey, citing irreconcilable differences.

Sally filed for legal separation May 2, though TMZ said it will be updated to divorce once Sally meets the three-month California residency requirement.
The situation could get more complicated in July, when a surrogate mother is due to give birth to the couple's son. Sally is asking for full custody and wants to
prevent Shepherd from interfering with the birth, according to People magazine.
The couple's prenuptial agreement could also be contentious. Sally has asked for it to be invalidated based on grounds of fraud, while Shepherd wants it enforced.
According to TMZ, Sally is entitled to just $60,000 because the marriage lasted between two and five years. The couple got married in August 2011.
Shepherd also has an 8-year-old son, Jeffrey, with ex-husband Jeff Tarpley.
