Shia LaBeouf Arrested, Spotted Crying in Handcuffs After Disrupting Play

Shia LaBeouf continued his months-long streak of bizarre behavior this week when he began smoking cigarettes and yelling obscenities during his visit to see "Cabaret" on Broadway, and was subsequently arrested during intermission.

According to ABC's New York affiliate WABC, the "Transformers" actor was cuffed and "seen crying" as he talked to officers outside of the famous Studio 54 theater Thursday night. LaBeouf, 28, was then taken to the police station and charged with disorderly conduct and criminal trespass.

Patrons reported that he not only disturbed the stage actors while they performed, but made a fool of himself at the theater bar as well.

"He just walked up to the bar inside of 'Cabaret' and grabbed a strawberry and fed it to some woman off of her plate, and then tipped the bartender and ran out," said one woman attending the show.

"He was quite a mess. He had a torn shirt, he had a cigarette, he was blending into the crowd — trying to — and chasing bums," said another show-goer.

LaBeouf has been acting out ever since it was revealed in December that the storyline of his short film "HowardCantour.com" was plagiarized from Daniel Clowes' graphic novel, "Justin M. Damiano," line for line.

Making matters worse for himself, LaBeouf apologized with a tweet that was found to be partially copied from a Yahoo Answers forum. He then posted a string of other plagiarized apologies, apparently trying to mock the entire situation. He then announced that he was retiring from "public life."

CNN reported that he created a performance art exhibit in February called "#IAMSORRY" in which he offered a litany of apologies, and wore a paper bag over his head. That same month, he wore a paper bag over his head again on the red carpet at the Berlin Film Festival with "I AM NOT FAMOUS ANYMORE" scribbled on it.

The actor got an early start in his career on the Disney Channel series "Even Stevens" when he was 14 years old. He has since worked on "Holes," "Transformers," "Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull," ''Disturbia," and "Wall Street: Money Never Sleeps."
