'Sons of Anarchy' Back for 90-Minute Season Opener on Sept. 10

The award-winning, edgy biker drama "Sons of Anarchy" will zoom back into action with a 90-minute episode to launch its sixth season, the FX Cable network announced. Fans can watch the season debut on Tuesday, Sept. 10 at 10 p.m. ET on FX.

The hit show is about an outlaw motorcycle club’s efforts to juggle an illegal arms business while protecting its hometown of Charming, Calif., from other criminals.

At times brutal and funny, the new season may be the most violent ever, says "Sons of Anarchy" creator Kurt Sutter, according to the Huffington Post.

The first promo teaser shows a major brawl unfolding.

E! Online reported the official log line for the sixth season: "Having framed Clay for the murder of Damon Pope, Season Six begins with Jax's leadership uncontested, but his family life suffering from his single-minded pursuit of John Teller's vision. Jax must find a way to keep Tara from going to prison for conspiracy to commit murder while rebuilding his club and breaking from the cycle of violence and greed that ultimately led to his best friend's death."

The show’s fifth season generated its most viewers to date, capturing 6.4 million viewers each episode. "Sons of Anarchy" is the top-rated program in the history of FX.
