A Southwest Airlines flight attendant is going viral after she deftly mixed humor with safety instructions on a recent flight.

Martha "Marty" Cobb took the mic on a flight to Salt Lake City, and the instructions usually ignored by passengers were this time well-received.

was no exception for passengers lucky enough to have flight attendant Martha "Marty" Cobb behind the microphone. (http://twentytwowords.com/flight-attendant-performs-safety-instructions-like-stand-up-comedy-gets-whole-plane-laughing/)

"If I can pretend to have your attention for just a few moments, my ex-husband, my new boyfriend and their divorced attorney are going to show you the safety features," Cobb begins, then spends the next three minutes mixing humor with instructions about what to do in an emergency.

"Position your seat belt tight and low across your hips, like my grandmother wears her support bra," she jokes.

"In the highly unlikely event that the captain lands us near a hot tub, everybody gets their very own teeny weeny yellow Southwest bikini," she says, referring to the life preservers used for emergency water landings.

Cobb receives rousing applause at the end of her speech, and she might have gotten a standing ovation if she hadn't already instructed passengers to fasten their seat belts.

Cobb, who has worked as a Southwest flight attendant for seven years, told NBC's "Today" that she recorded the video three months ago but only recently created a YouTube account.

Uploaded last week, the video has received more than 6 million views.

"I can act like a grown up if I have to, but it's a lot more fun to make people laugh," she told "Today." "As long as safety is our first concern, we can have fun."
