British physicist Stephen Hawking took to Facebook yesterday to congratulate actor Eddie Redmayne on his Sunday-night Oscar win.
Redmayne, 33, took home the little gold man for Best Actor in "The Theory of Everything," in which he plays Hawking.
Redmayne, portrayed Hawking, 73, in the biopic chronicling the theoretical physicist's rise to fame as well as his struggle with ALS that began in his young adulthood.
"I’m fully aware that I am a lucky, lucky man. This Oscar belongs to all of those people around the world battling ALS," Redmayne said in his televised acceptance speech,
Time magazine reported.
The actor said he plans to meet up with Hawking after the big win, and will likely be bringing Oscar along.
