Stevie Wonder welcomed a baby girl, Nia, into the world this week. The birth marked the 64-year-old Motown legend's second child with current girlfriend Tomeeka Robyn Bracy, and his ninth child overall.

A representative for Wonder announced the birth of the girl, according to Us Weekly. The rep said that the girl was named Nia, one of the seven principles of Kwanzaa, which means purpose.

Wonder's eight other children from five different women range in age from 12 months to 39 years, the gossip site reported.

The National Enquirer originally reported in October that Wonder and Bracy were expecting triplets.

"In a blockbuster world exclusive, The National Enquirer can reveal that the blind entertainment legend and his fiancée Tomeeka Robyn Bracy, who is 24 years his junior, are expecting triplets," the tabloid wrote.

Wonder, however, set the record straight last month, telling the ladies of ABC's "The View" that Bracy, 40, is pregnant with just one child.

"Whoopi, it's so hard for me these days," he joked to co-host Whoopi Goldberg. "That's why I'm going on the road. I've got how many — 22 kids? No, actually it's not true . . . The truth is we're going to have a wonderful daughter, born in December."

Wonder continues to inspire today's musicians. In an interview posted by MTV News Thursday, producer Mark Ronson gushed about working with Wonder for his upcoming album "Uptown Specials," scheduled for release Jan. 27.

"It's the biggest deal of my life," Ronson told Bluey Robinson, according to MTV News. "Stevie Wonder's my favorite musician, singer, songwriter ever, and to have him play on the record (is amazing)."
