Rap mogul Suge Knight was pulled over by the Los Angeles Police Department Friday in a case of mistaken identity.
Sources told TMZ that the music producer, whose real name is Marion Knight, is considering filing charges against the department after officers stopped him Friday afternoon on an assault complaint only to find out that they had the wrong person.

Police pulled over Knight with guns drawn, TMZ said, after receiving a report of an assault with a person matching Knight's description. Police now say the original report may have been fabricated.
Knight, the former head of Death Row Records, has a long list of encounters with authorities. The latest was in September when he was stopped on a traffic violation and arrested at the scene on an outstanding misdemeanor warrant for skipping a Beverly Hills court appearance for driving without a license,
according to The Los Angeles Times.
In 2009, he pleaded guilty to misdemeanor battery in Las Vegas in a deal that got two felony drug charges dropped from a 2008 confrontation.
Knight was sentenced to nine years in 1997 for violating his probation from an assault case. The rap mogul was freed in 2001 but found his way back to jail in 2003 for violating parole after hitting a parking lot attendant.
In 2006, Knight filed for bankruptcy because of civil lawsuits against him, resulting in the sale of his Malibu mansion.
Death Row Records was co-founded by Knight and Dr. Dre and rocketed to stardom in 1993 when the two discovered Snoop Dogg. They produced his hit debut album "Doggystyle" and also signed Tupac Shakur.
"Death Row wasn't only a black-owned record label (but) Death Row was pretty much the only American-owned record label," Knight told Rolling Stone in an interview in November. "Everything else was either Sony or some other thing. It became the blueprint for any label that's out, including the majors. I was the first person doing 360 degree deals with all the artists."
