Taylor Swift has counter-sued a Denver radio personality who went after the pop superstar in federal court, claiming he lost his job after the singer's security team said he groped her at a 2013 concert.
David Mueller sued Swift in federal court last month, saying that he and his girlfriend Shannon Melcher took a photograph with her before a concert at Denver's Pepsi Center. He claimed he was later approached by Swift's security staff while still inside the Pepsi Center and they falsely accused him of groping the star.
Mueller said he was escorted out of the arena and then later fired from his job at KYGO-FM.
Swift's counter-suit demands a jury trial and says she plans to donate any money awarded to charity, according to
Us Weekly.
"Ms. Swift knows exactly who committed the assault – it was Mueller," her counter-suit says. "Resolution of this counterclaim will demonstrate that Mueller alone was the perpetrator of the humiliating and wrongful conduct targeted against Ms. Swift, and will serve as an example to other women who may resist publicly reliving similar outrageous and humiliating acts."
TMZ said the incident happened during a meet-and-greet opportunity before the singer's Denver concert appearance. Mueller, known on-air as Jackson, was working as the host of "Ryno and Jackson Show," on KYGO-FM at the time.
"Mueller now claims the assault was carried out by another guy ... but in her docs, Taylor insists Mueller was the one who got handsy, leaving the singer, 'surprised, upset, offended, and alarmed,'" said TMZ.
Mueller has worked in radio for more than 20 years and was making a base salary of $150,000 when he was fired from his job in 2013, said the
Denver Post. Mueller was also paid performance bonuses, product endorsement fees and public appearance fees.
Mueller has been photographed with "hundreds" of celebrities over the course of his career, said the Post, including Sheryl Crow, Gwen Stefani, Britney Spears, Christina Aguilera, Heidi Klum, Fergie, Mariah Carey, Beyoncé, Jessica Simpson and Jennifer Lopez.
