The ad goes on the attack against the state’s Democratic Gov. Jerry Brown, saying he wants to increase taxes and that he turned down a Republican initiative to balance the budget.
It also proclaims that Californians are “taxed enough already,” a common phrase in the tea party movement.
As the Caller points out, it is one of several phrases that the acronym “TEA” stands for.
Brown’s plan to fight the state’s $9.6 billion deficit includes tax increases.
If lawmakers don’t pass a budget by July 1, they will not be paid according to new legislative rules.
