A Michigan teen who can lick her own eyeball said Tuesday she's decided to pursue the world record for longest tongue.
CBS News reported that Adrianne Lewis, 18, of Muskegon believes that her long licker is at least 4 inches, which would beat out the current Guinness World Record of 3.97-inches — currently held by Nick Stoeberl.
Lewis has recently become a star on YouTube, where videos of her unusual asset have gained her a sizable following.
Her ability to touch the tip of her tongue to her eyeball is one of her least favorite talents, but Lewis acknowledges its role in helping make her famous, and hopefully get a meeting with the Guinness people.
"I don’t like that trick," she said in a recent interview. "It’s like you’re licking your dog, if your dog had short hair. It’s so weird!"
Lewis' mother said that the family all have long lickers.
They were initially a bit wary of Lewis making YouTube videos — where viewer comments can sometimes turn tawdry — however they've embraced her goal of setting the world record.
Lewis' boyfriend said he himself has to remind himself to "appreciate the person that’s attached to the tongue," and respect that person's dreams.
