A Texas high school senior scored a date with a Houston Texans cheerleader last week after asking her to prom with a creative Twitter invite.
Mike Ramirez, a 17-year-old senior football player at Crosby High School, contacted 20-year-old cheerleader Caitlyn Beth on Twitter Thursday with an inventive proposal: "If I get 10,000 retweets, will you go to prom with me?"

By Sunday, Ramirez had scored the 10,000 requested retweets and Beth accepted his invitation.
Ramirez said he couldn't believe the cheerleader actually said yes.
"I was talking to my friend Colton about prom and I just said, 'Man, what if I asked a
Texans cheerleader to prom,' so I did," he told YourHoustonNews.com. "Honestly, I didn’t think she'd respond, but you don't hit unless you swing."
"I'm so excited," he added. "My buddies are excited for me too. They said I have to do it big, so that’s what I’m going to do."
