Flooded Piano: Texas Father Plays While Water Surrounds Him

A Texas dad played beautiful music on a flooded piano in his home as he returned to grab some of his seven kids’ stuffed animals to take to them at a nearby house where they were staying.

Aric Harding decided to play the piano at his home in Friendswood, south of Houston, after finding that it wasn’t completely covered in water, CNN reported. He recorded a video of himself playing a song as water filled the room almost as high as the piano bench.

In the caption to the video posted on Instagram, Harding wrote he was “excited to see the new beauty in the suffering.” He said, “What we used to have going as a city is gone. I really think God is going to do something completely new here.” He then went on to quote Romans 8, ending with “And we know that for those who love God all things work together for good, for those who are called according to his purpose.”

The video got more than 6,000 likes and one commenter even offered to send him a new piano, CNN reported.

Harding’s children are ages 5 to 13, CNN reported. He said neighbors on his street were working together to clean up and repair the eight homes on his street, all of which were flooded.

“The kids are with their grandparents and we are all working together as a community on the cleanup,” Harding said, CNN reported.
