Tim Tebow sold out Greenville’s minor-league baseball stadium on Thursday as his Columbia Fireflies faced the Greenville Drive in a key game for South Atlantic League mid-season bragging rights.

The football-turned-baseball pro was clearly the big draw that saw his team win 7-2 in front of a packed, cheering stadium.

The Fireflies currently sit in first place in the league and, with three games left, the first-half title is within reach.

Tebow’s career has been under constant scrutiny since he was signed by the New York Mets. Through 56 games and 156 at-bats, he has posted a .226 batting average, 20 RBI and 26 runs, noted USA Today.

His notorious 61 strikeouts are the 13th highest total in the league.

Tebow's minor league ticket sales haven't gone unnoticed in New York City, but many say he has a long way to go before he gets to play at CitiField.

SB Nation suggested Tebow, 29, was on the wrong end of his peak years, adding that the outfielder should consider switching to a position where he would be more comfortable.

Hard-core sports folks may remain critical, but Tebow has captured American hearts with his humble attitude.

The athlete interacts with fans, and regularly posts motivational quotes and posts on his social media accounts.

One fan, Dennis Hagler, commented on Tebow’s Facebook page:

“DON'T EVER GIVE UP TIM!!! LIVE YOUR DREAM!!!! Hater's Gonna Hate!!! Fans they cannot wait!!! Til u are on the Big Screen!!! Remember the only thing that is "FAIR" in life is a hit between the "Foul line on The First Base and the Third Base Line". We serve a Mighty Savior!! Remember keep your hands back and your eye on the ball. You will MAKE IT!!!!”

Tomas Gutierrez added:

“People ask why is Tim playing baseball after all these years?? Think of the lives that he is changing for the Lord. The young men that he is helping mold into great men for the Lord. Blessings Tim.”
