Oscar-winning actor Tom Hanks is a grandfather for the second time with the birth of a girl to his son, fellow actor Colin Hanks, and Colin's wife Samantha Bryant.
Tom Hanks' second time as a grandfather was reported by People.com. "Ms. Charlotte Bryant Hanks has decided to join us," Colin Hanks told the site. "She’s as happy and healthy as we are overjoyed and tired."
US Weekly reported in April that Bryant was pregnant with the couple's second child. The news broke during the opening of "Lucky Guy," Tom Hanks' run on Broadway.
The couple's first child, Olivia Jane, was born Feb. 1, 2011, nine months after the couple was married, wrote US Weekly.

The new arrival doubles the joy for the Hanks-Bryant household. The parents gushed over Olivia when she was born in 2011.
"Since our daughter joined us the spectrum has widened," Colin Hanks told People.com after the first of his first daughter in 2011. "My job is to recreate moments between people and when you’re able to look at moments differently, you get deeper meaning in things. A baby’s existence for the first three months is a one-way street. One person is doing all the work and the other is crying, sleeping, and pooping."
Colin Hanks has numerous television credits to his career, including roles in the WB's "Roswell," CBS's "NCIS," Fox's "The Good Guys," HBO's miniseries "Band of Brothers" and Showtime's "Dexter." He also appeared in the movies "Orange County," "King Kong," and "The Great Buck Howard," which was produced by his father, according to IMDb.com.
This year, he was featured in the web series "Burning Love," a spoof of the "The Bachelor" and "The Bachelorette" television franchises, according to IMBd.com.
Tom Hanks, 56, has won Academy Awards for his roles in "Philadelphia" and "Forrest Gump," according to the Inquistr.com. The website said his upcoming movies include "Saving Mr. Banks," where he plays Walt Disney, and "Captain Phillips," the story of the American cargo ship that was hijacked by Somali pirates before rescued by U.S. military.
Inquistr.com said Hanks is ranked as the highest all-time box office star in terms of revenue. BoxOfficeMojo.com estimated Hanks movie revenue at $4.07 billion over 40 films.
