A tour bus crash injured more than 50 people in Southern California on Thursday as the bus rolled over carrying passengers on a casino gambling excursion.
Five people were flown by helicopter with serious injuries and another
three needed emergency medical attention, according to The Associated Press. Fifty-two people, mostly older and non-English speaking, were injured in total, although most injuries were minor.

The accident is under investigation and there’s no confirmed indication of the cause, but
Patch.com reported that someone at the scene told KNX radio the driver over-corrected after attempting to change lanes.
The AP said the bus rolled through a chain fence on Interstate 210 and came to rest on its side on a dirt hill. Rescue workers had to help some people out of the bus, and bystanders also stopped to help.
The bus came from Da Zhen Travel Agency in Monterey Park, Calif., and was going to the San Manuel Indian Bingo and Casino. U.S. Department of Transportation records showed the company had a “satisfactory” rating during a 2010 inspection, the AP said. A schedule indicated Da Zhen makes 14 trips daily to San Manuel from cities throughout L.A. County.
One commenter to the AP story on Yahoo, Sam, said: “All I wanna know is, what’s up with all the dang bus accidents lately. Seems like every week there’s a bus accident.”
Near Kansas City this week, a
school bus rolled over and injured the drivier and 22 children, none critically, The Kansas City Star reported. The crash was attributed to the bus tires dropping off the pavement, and when the driver applied brakes and attempted to steer back on the road, the bus slid off the side and overturned, the paper said.
The Rockford Register Star reported that a woman who ran into a school bus, causing it to crash, was charged Wednesday with a DUI. Five students and the bus driver received minor injuries.
