Tracy Morgan is driving again — and in style behind the wheel of a Lamborghini — as the comedian continues to bounce back from the horrific 2014 accident that left him seriously injured and killed one of his friends.
Steve Lacy, an anchor with WNYW-TV, first spotted Morgan in the luxury vehicle in Manhattan over the weekend and posted a photo to Twitter on Sunday.
"[Lacy] says he first noticed the Lambo, and was floored when he saw who was
behind the wheel," TMZ reported. "Steve says he asked Tracy how he was doing and the comedian said he was good and flashed the peace sign. Lacy says Morgan 'was just like the Tracy we knew.'"
In March, the former "Saturday Night Live" and "30 Rock" star reached a confidential settlement with Walmart in connection to the New Jersey Turnpike crash last year that left fellow comedian
James McNair dead, according to USA Today.
The June 2014 crash, in which a Walmart truck driver fell asleep and smashed into Morgan's limousine, left the star with broken leg bones, a broken nose, and several broken ribs.
"Walmart did right by me and my family, and for my associates and their families," Morgan said in a statement earlier this year, according to USA Today. "I am grateful that the case was resolved amicably."
Walmart issued a statement at the time as well, expressing pleasure that it had reached a settlement.
"Our thoughts continue to go out to everyone that was involved in the accident," Greg Foran, Walmart U.S. president and chief executive officer, said. "While we know there is nothing that can change what happened, Walmart has been committed to doing what's right to help ensure the well-being of all of those who were impacted by the accident."
Kevin Roper, the driver of the Walmart tractor-trailer, faces numerous criminal charges in state court, including death by auto, but he was not a defendant in
Morgan's federal lawsuit, wrote CBS News.
