President Donald Trump mixed up two blonde reporters during a news conference Monday with Finnish President Sauli Niinistö, resulting in an awkward moment before the reporter quipped about the number blondes in the country.

The humorous incident happened near the end of the White House news conference when Trump encouraged Niinistö to call on another reporter, but then joked when his Finish counterpart called on a blonde female reporter he believed asked a question earlier, London's Daily Mail wrote.

"Again? You're going to give her the same one?" Trump asked after Niinistö called on Maria Annala, a Boston-based Finnish reporter for the Finnish News Agency, noted the Daily Mail, mistaking her for Paula Vilén, of the Finnish Broadcasting Company, who asked an earlier question.

Niinistö responded: "No, she is not the same lady," Niinistö said, according to The Washington Post. "They are sitting side by side."

The exchange led to Annala to quip, "We have a lot of blonde women in Finland," before going to her question about Finland's role in the relationship between the United States and Russia, the Post stated.

Lisa Desjardin, a correspondent for PBS NewsHour tweeted out a photo she took with the two journalists next to each other.

Opinions on the mix-up ranged widely.
