A former Miami Dolphins cheerleader is blaming Trump selfies for her divorce from her top prosecutor husband.
Dave and Lynn Aronberg signed an amicable divorce settlement last week, ending what many were referring to as "the Trump divorce," The Washington Post reported.
A statement detailing the divorce was released last week by a PR agent, Adrienne Mazzone, who announced the settlement, claiming it bought "an amicable end to their marriage, which began with a proposal at the Eiffel Tower 23 months ago."
The document hints at political differences contributing to the marriage’s breakdown, highlighting the fact that Dave Aronberg was a Democrat while Lynn Aronberg was a staunch Republican and Donald Trump supporter.
Dave Aronberg served in the state senate for nearly 10 years and reportedly intends to challenge U.S. Congressman Brian Mast in next year’s mid-term election.
The statement mentions that Lynn Aronberg felt "increasingly isolated in the marriage," adding that the couple had no children, which was a problem for the former cheerleader.
"She said she wanted children, but Aronberg was in no hurry," the statement continued.
Dave and Lynn Aronberg married in May 2015 after a high profile proposal made news headlines, according to Gossip Extra.
However, it was not long before political tension built between the couple.
Lynn Aronberg said liberal supporters considered her as a "hayseed wife" who had "intolerable politics," the Post reported.
As the Hillary-Trump saga developed, so did tension in their relationship.
Lynn Aronberg explained that the Trump brand became toxic to her now ex-husband’s base, recalling how she would snap selfies of herself with Donald and Melanie Trump on the red carpet while her husband would hide from the public’s eye.
"He’d ask me to not take pictures. He wouldn’t want me to post them," she told The Washington Post. "I did not listen to him."
Lynn Aronberg’s selfie habit resulted in her then husband receiving calls from irate supporters, the Post said.
This added to strain on the marriage, and ultimately their divorce.
Lynn Aronberg was offered about $100,000 worth of benefits provided she signs the divorce settlement, according to Gossip Extra, which added that the agreement calls for Dave Aronberg to pay at least half of the former cheerleader’s rent for her luxury Boca Raton condo and to provide her with a new BMW and $40,000 cash.
