The "Unicorn Frappuccino," fueling the latest p.r. campaign from Starbucks – with pink powder blended into cream Frappuccino with mango syrup and layered with a sour blue drizzle – has caught on with the Internet.

"People are freaking out over Starbucks Unicorn Frappuccino," burbled USA Today's headline.

The drink makes its debut across the country on Wednesday and will only be sold until Sunday, said Starbucks.

"The elusive unicorn from medieval legend has been making a comeback," said Starbucks, suggesting some sort of online chumming. "Once only found in enchanted forests, unicorns have been popping up in social media with shimmering unicorn-themed food and drinks."

"Like its mythical namesake, the Unicorn Frappuccino blended crème comes with a bit of magic, starting as a purple beverage with swirls of blue and a first taste that is sweet and fruity. But give it a stir and its color changes to pink, and the flavor evolves to tangy and tart. The more swirl, the more the beverage’s color and flavors transform."

Food & Wine spotted the campaign last week.

"Currently, the Internet is freaking out over sightings of the magical beverage that have been posted across Reddit threads and on Instagram in recent days, showing the pink and blue drink topped with colorful sprinkles — or maybe even fairy dust," said Food & Wine's Jillian Kramer on Friday.

On cue, social media continued to spread the good news.
