Vince Neil, lead singer of heavy metal band Motley Crue, sang the National Anthem on Tuesday at an AFL game for the Las Vegas Outlaws, and it left some wondering if he was drunk.

"Vince Neil is f***ing smacked in this video! Deadspin.com wrote after viewing video footage of the crippled croon. "No sober man has ever pronounced 'air' like that," it added.

Sports Illustrated echoed the sentiment, calling Neil's rendition "oddly cavalier."

According to CBS News — which advised him to "stick to rock and roll"— Neil was likely singing "The Star Spangled Banner" because he's part owner of the arena football team.

Mötley Crüe is scheduled to go on an extensive tour this summer, dubbed "The Final Tour."
