Wayne Knight Hoax: 'Seinfeld' Actor Insists He's Not Dead

Wayne Knight, the 58-year-old actor who played the nemesis of Jerry Seinfeld in the 1990s sitcom "Seinfeld" took to Twitter on Sunday to assure everyone the reports of is death were completely fabricated.



He followed the original tweet with:



Pranksters created fake websites that looked like legitimate celebrity news sites for Us Weekly and TMZ, fooling people into sharing the phony news on social media. The sites said Knight was killed in a crash with a tractor-trailer.

Days earlier, similar reports claimed "Pawn Stars" reality star Austin Russell, better known as Chumlee, had died after a rapid weight loss. Like Knight, Russell assured fans he was still among the living via Twitter.

Knight turned serious on his Twitter account later in the day, saying:
