In a new viral video, a brave wild horse attacks an alligator that then fights back, and it was all recorded by a woman hiking with friends in a Florida state park.

Krystal M. Berry was hiking in a group at Paynes Prairie Preserve State Park when she saw some wild horses grazing near the alligator, People reported. As she took video of the horses, one came out of the bushes and stomped on the reptile.

As the alligator began to creep away, the horse stomped on it again, but the gator fought back and bit the horse’s back legs, after which the horse went back to the bushes while the alligator continued to creep away.

The altercation startled Berry and her friends, and one could be heard saying, “Just leave him alone.” Berry did not seem to think the horse or gator were seriously hurt.

“I did contact the reserve to check on the horse and gator. There were no clear signs of distress/bleeding when we left the site,” she wrote on Facebook.

“I’m still shaking,” she wrote on the site.

Berry and her friends were at the park in Micanopy to celebrate graduation from Nursing School, ABC News reported.

Twitter fans seemed impressed by the horse’s attack on the alligator, seeing it almost as a “man bites dog” scenario.
