A woman in College Station, Texas, went to investigate strange noises coming from her bathroom and discovered a 12-foot African python crawling into her bathtub.

“It was a huge scare,” Veronica Rodriguez told The Eagle about the snake.

"When the officer showed up, he came with a brown paper sack," Rodriguez said. "I told him, 'You're going to need a bigger sack than that.'"

Rodriguez said the snake may have gotten into the home through the open back door while she was giving three pet guinea pigs baths and taking each one outside to run in a penned area.

Two College Station police officers and an animal control officer trapped the snake in a city trash can.

"It was pretty aggressive," officer Tony Gonzales told The Eagle. "It definitely didn't want to go into the trash can."

The python has been returned to its owner.

Rodriguez, who lives with her teen daughter, said the incident left her jumpy and having trouble sleeping.

Twitter users reacted in horror.
