A photo that appears to show a woman ghost holding a baby in the background of a group picture has stoked the Internet community’s imagination, raising questions about just what was inadvertently captured in the viral picture.
Natasha Oliver, 22, took the photo five years ago in Wem in Shropshire, England, and it was supposed to be a snapshot of a group of
friends, ABC News reported. But when they looked at the photo, it appeared to feature a figure, possibly holding a baby, in one of the windows in the background.
"I truly believe there is a ghost woman and her baby in that window," Oliver told ABC News.
After discovering the apparition in the window, Oliver told the news station that two of her friends checked out the scene.
"When we saw the ghostly figure, the boys climbed up the scaffolding to see what was up there thinking maybe someone was watching us," she said. "But there was nothing up there. There were no floorboards or anything there. The house wasn't finished being built yet at the time."
The photo came to the Internet’s attention after Oliver commented on another photograph, supposedly of a ghost, and said she had a better photo than that, ABC said. When she posted the 5-year-old photo, it went viral.

told The Irish Mirror the home was being built on a site that was once another business.
"It’s on the site of an old wood yard so there would have been people working here. It could be any one of the workers,” she said.
It’s not the first time Wem has been in the news for ghost sightings, the Mirror said. In 1995, a photo of what looked like a little girl in the doorway when the town hall burned down brought attention to the small Shropshire town. But that photo was later determined to be a fake.
"I would love someone to investigate it. There have been photos taken in the past of ghosts in Wem that have been proved fake but I truly believe there is something there,” Oliver told the Mirror.
