Will Wonder Woman make an appearance in the new Batman vs. Superman movie? A key executive behind the upcoming film is being coy about answering that question.
“Wonder Woman is an amazing character,” Greg Silverman, Warner Bros.’ president of creative development and worldwide production, told Variety at the Variety Entertainment & Tech Summit. “I think it’s a great opportunity both for box office success, but also to have an amazingly powerful female superhero.”

Other than that, Silverman didn’t say much about the upcoming "Man of Steel" sequel. He did, however, address the controversial
decision to cast Affleck as Batman, a move derided across the Internet.
“We knew going in that we had more information than the general public had,” he told Variety. “We knew what the take of the movie was going to be. We don’t take these decisions lightly. We thought about everybody — brand new people, established people. Ben is the perfect guy to play this role.”
Screen Rant had earlier addressed the Wonder Woman rumors, writing, “At this point, it’s hard to be surprised at any announcement made by (director Zack) Snyder or Warner Bros.” The story noted reports that casting calls are “seeking out a woman who is between 25 and 33. …While Warner Bros. won’t confirm any more details, some agencies are playing it safe and assuming that they’re sending Wonder Woman candidates.”
The casting of a Wonder Woman for the flick isn’t the only rumor circulating. Earlier reports suggested Justin Bieber was being considered for the role of Robin.
Variety had earlier reported that Warner Bros. began shooting the superhero movie last weekend at East Los Angeles College. Officially, though, the film remains in pre-production, as stars Ben Affleck and Henry Cavill are shooting other movies through the end of the year. The Batman-Superman movie is scheduled to premiere on July 17, 2015.
