A person wearing a yeti costume provided a welcome distraction for Boston residents who were hunkered down under a blizzard this week.

The mythical creature was spotted in downtown Copley Square and in suburban Somerville Monday, The Associated Press reported, adding that it was unknown whether there was one or more abominable snowmen wandering around in the snow.

Tweets from Twitter handle @BostonYeti2015 shared images and messages about enjoying the storm and trying to hail a taxi. The account had more than 4,000 followers as of Tuesday afternoon.

The yeti told ABC News it “was raised and educated by the woods.”

The city has instructed residents to stay off the roads during the storm, which has been dubbed Winter Storm Juno.

Twitter users were delighted by the story.
