The Zionist Organization of America (ZOA) has congratulated Judge Brett Kavanaugh on his nomination to the U.S. Supreme Court in a statement from the organization.
A statement was released by ZOA President Morton A. Klein and Director of Special Projects Elizabeth Berney, Esq., congratulating Kavanaugh and giving some information about his nomination and judicial record.
Klein and Berney were careful to state that the ZOA does not endorse judicial nominations, but said they talked to friends and fellow lawyers in the DC Circuit where Kavanaugh has been a federal appeals court judge for 12 years as well as teaching law school at Harvard.
Everyone “spoke very highly of Judge Kavanaugh’s independence, fairness, intellect, excellence as a jurist, and sterling qualifications,” according to the statement.
ZOA also reviewed Kavanaugh’s written decisions and commended him for his “understanding of the unending radical Islamic terror war against the U.S., Israel, moderate Arab nations and other countries.”
“ZOA found nothing in Judge Kavanaugh’s record that would be harmful to the pro-Israel and Jewish community,” the statement read.
The organization was disappointed in the Anti-Defamation League’s recent attack on Kavanaugh’s nomination and agreed with commentators who called the ADL attacks “partisan warfare,” the statement concluded, adding that the “ZOA wishes judge Kavanaugh many decades of continued outstanding public service.”
