Dr. Ben Carson will air a 40-minute video introducing himself to people this weekend,
ABC News reports.
The documentary on Carson is titled "A Breath of Fresh Air: A New Prescription for America," and will air in 22 states and the District of Columbia. It looks at Carson's life, beginning with his birth to a single mother and ending with his rise to a prominent pediatric neurosurgeon at Johns Hopkins University Hospital.
Carson's name is among several thought to be considering runs for president in the 2016 Republican primaries, and ABC News characterized the video as Carson tossing his hat into the ring.
Carson has repeatedly said he does not want to be president, but said he would be willing to accept challenge if he believed God and the American people want him to run. A grassroots effort to draft him already has raised millions of dollars.
The airtime for the documentary is being paid for by a production company run by Armstrong Williams, who is Carson's business manager, ABC News reported.
