It's no secret that former New York City Police Detective Bo Dietl is not a fan of Mayor Bill de Blasio, whom he derisively refers to as "Big Bird." Now, he says he would consider challenging de Blasio in the next mayoral election.
"Put it this way, I've gotten a lot of phone calls," Dietl said Tuesday on Fox News Channel's
"Your World with Neil Cavuto."
"If it was head-to-head, him and I, let's go to the old tape. I'll debate him, I'll bring him down in a head lock real quick."
De Blasio just completed his first year of a four-year term, so Dietl has plenty of time to decide if he really wants to run. But he might consider hedging a bit since he is a paid Fox News contributor.
Former Fox News host Mike Huckabee ended his show last weekend since he is considering a 2016 presidential run. Other Fox News contributors, such as former Massachusetts Sen. Scott Brown, left the network after deciding to run for office.
Dietl also talked of running for mayor on Fox Business Network's "Imus in the Morning."
