Chicago took no holiday from gun violence over the Easter weekend, when 23 people were shot — two of them fatally.

The first shooting death came at 8:05 p.m. Friday when three men approached Eugenio Solano, 23, and asked for directions. Then one of the men pulled out a gun and opened fire. Solano died at the scene, CBS Chicago reported.

The second fatal shooting occurred around 1:50 a.m. Sunday when four men approached Akeen Manago, 19, from behind and opened fire.

Among those injured were a 38-year-old man and his 12-year-old son, who were both shot Saturday morning as they exited a car. They were hospitalized and reported in good condition.
Chicago reported 2,400 shooting last year.
