A twitter war is raging over "American Sniper" actor Bradley Cooper's appearance at the Democratic National Convention.

Two years after Cooper's widely acclaimed performance of Navy SEAL shooter Chris Kyle, some conservatives were angry after cameras showed him in the audience at the Democratic convention in his hometown of Philadelphia, along with Russian model girlfriend Irina Shayk.

Another Twitter poster sniped Cooper would now be on his "list of celebrities that support Socialism I refuse to spend another $ on."

Still another fan had hoped Cooper's work on the film would have swayed him over to the GOP.

Others mocked the shock and horror of Cooper not being the character he portrayed.

"American Sniper" made made $350.1 million — thanks in large part to conservative moviegoers — and earned Cooper a best-actor Oscar nomination, USA Today reports.

But in real life, he has supported the Brady Campaign to End Gun Violence and made small donations to Hillary Clinton's 2000 Senate campaign and her 2008 primary bid, USA Today reports.
