Sen. Tom Cotton, R-Ark., is assembling a war room to push President Donald Trump's Supreme Court pick before Election Day.
On Saturday, Trump is expected to nominate a conservative woman to fill the seat left vacated by the liberal Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg — and federal Judge Amy Coney Barrett is reportedly almost certain to get the nod.
"Today, I am launching an emergency Supreme Court War Room at scotuswarroom.com to help President Trump fulfill his constitutional duty to appoint the next Supreme Court justice," Cotton tweeted Friday.
Cotton has a small but dedicated political operation that includes an aligned but separately run super PAC, the Washington Examiner reported.
The Supreme Court war room effort aims to be a rapid response unit to bat back attacks on Trump's nominee -- Barrett is known for conservative religious views -- and issues positive information promoting her confirmation.
Democrats have railed at any Supreme Court pick so close to the Nov. 3 election, saying the pick for a successor should be made by the presidential election winner.
