President Barack Obama's brother-in-law has joined ESPN as a men's college basketball analyst and will make his debut Nov. 18.
Craig Robinson, the oldest brother of first lady Michelle Obama, previously worked as the head men's basketball coach at Oregon State University and Brown University.
"I am extremely honored and excited to join ESPN and its college basketball team," Robinson said in a press release from the network. "The chance to remain close to the sport I love, expand my horizons and be a part of ESPN and The Walt Disney Co. is a tremendous opportunity."
Robinson was drafted by the Philadelphia 76ers in 1983 but never played in the NBA. Instead, he played for the Manchester Giants, part of the British Basketball League, for two seasons after he graduated from Princeton University in 1983.
Now 52, Robinson will call games on the ESPN networks and will also provide analysis from the studio.
Robinson was fired by Oregon State in May with three years left on his contract. He had a 94-105 record during his six years leading the Beavers.
