DC Entertainment will censor the full-frontal male nudity in future prints of "Batman: Damned," a new comic on their adult-oriented DC Black Label line of comics, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

The issue, written by Brian Azzarello and illustrated by Lee Bemejo, features a page with a fully nude Bruce Wayne. The image was censored in the comic's digital release, but not in print. According to the Hollywood Reporter, DC editorial did not think the nudity added anything to the story.

DC Black Label is described on the company's website as "a brand-new publishing imprint dedicated to giving premier writers and artists the chance to expand on DC's unrivaled characters with unique, standalone stories set outside DC continuity. The imprint will be DC's home for classy, collectible superhero stories aimed at mature readers looking to be challenged and surprised as they're entertained, with an eye for the unique and remarkable."

Vox's Alex Abad-Santos notes, by censoring future versions of the comic, DC "has essentially made the first printing of 'Batman: Damned' No. 1 a limited edition, and perhaps a collector's item — and ensured that people are going to pay attention to whatever the imprint does next to 'challenge and surprise' readers."
