Surveillance video of a person of interest in a threat against Sen. Dean Heller was released by the Las Vegas Police Department on Wednesday, KOLO TV reports.
A person taped a note on Heller’s district office door Sunday threatening the Republican to vote against the GOP healthcare bill. The Nevada Independent reported the note warned Heller that the individual would lose their healthcare if the senator voted for the bill and he would die if that happened, and that he would take Heller with him. The suspect reportedly entered the building illegally.
Police describe the man as white, heavy set and 50 to 60 years old, with a gray beard, black baseball hat, short-sleeve collared shirt and shorts.
Heller – who has raised questions about the loss of Medicaid funding, is considered an important swing vote on the healthcare bill. The vote on the Better Care Reconciliation Act has been delayed because Sen. John McCain is recovering from surgery and all GOP senators are needed.
