A 75-year-old woman accidentally flew her airplane into restricted airspace over Chicago, triggering a response by the Air Force, the
New York Post reports.
Two F-16 fighter jets scrambled to intercept the aircraft as it wandered into restricted airspace during President Obama’s 50th birthday party fundraiser in the Windy City. Officials told the Post that the pilot could not be contacted by controllers as the plane was not equipped with a radio.
The pilot, Myrtle Rose, did a U-turn and returned home.
