The recent leaks of the FBI investigation of Hillary Clinton have been sparked by a feeling within the agency the Democratic presidential nominee is corrupt and should not be elected president, The Guardian reported.
"The FBI is Trumpland," one current agent told the newspaper, adding Clinton is "the antichrist personified to a large swath of FBI personnel."
The reason for the leaks, the agent said, "is they're pro-Trump."
None of the current or past agents would allow The Guardian to quote them by name.
Describing the bureau as "Trumplandia," the agent said many are openly talking about voting for Trump even though some Republicans have condemned him from a national security standpoint.
Other agents told the paper Trump support is not that strong inside the FBI, but said Clinton is viewed extremely unfavorably across-the-board.
"There are lots of people who don't think Trump is qualified, but also believe Clinton is corrupt," one former FBI official said. "What you hear a lot is that it's a bad choice, between an incompetent and a corrupt politician."
