OWINGS MILLS, Md. — The NFL has fined Baltimore Ravens coach John Harbaugh $15,000 for impermissible verbal and physical contact with an official.
The NFL made the announcement Tuesday. The incident occurred Sunday during the Ravens 15-10 loss to the Cincinnati Bengals.
Harbaugh made contact with line judge Ron Marinucci in the chest while demonstrating where outside linebacker Terrell Suggs hit Bengals quarterback Carson Palmer during a questionable roughing-the-passer penalty.
During his Monday press conference, Harbaugh said he was "a little animated" in describing the play and that he was "over the line" with his demonstration.
Harbaugh said he and Marinucci disagreed about the call, but that the discussion was "respectful throughout" and that "it should be OK."
