Americans are gaining confidence in the short-term housing market, which is at its highest level in several years, according to a Rasmussen Reports poll.

But the number of homeowners who say their home is worth more than what they still owe  is down again.

In a telephone survey of 675 homeowners across the nation, Rasmussen found that 36 percent believe the value of their property will go up over the next year.

Another 15 percent expect that value to go down, while 46 percent feel it will stay about the same, according to Rasmussen.
