Former Vice President Joe Biden still has not answered questions about whether he had any knowledge of his son Hunter's international businesses dealings that were detailed in a bunch of emails allegedly found on a laptop belonging to his son, Fox News reports.
Last week, the New York Post published the emails that highlighted Hunter Biden's work with Ukrainian natural gas firm Burisma Holdings and a Chinese energy firm. The emails suggest Hunter Biden made millions selling his father's influence, according to Fox News.
While the Biden campaign has responded to the article, Biden has not answered questions pertaining to the emails.
He told a CBS News reporter he had "no response" and called the situation "another smear campaign."
Before the alleged emails coming to light, Biden has alleged he has "never spoken to my son about his overseas business dealings."
The Post reported other material also turned up on the laptop, including sexually explicit images.
The FBI reportedly seized the computer and hard drive in December 2019, according to Fox News. The Post reported the laptop was found at a repair shop in Delaware in April 2019. The store owner gave a copy of its content to Rudy Giuliani's lawyer, Robert Costello.
Some Democrats have claimed the emails are Russian disinformation – so did a lawyer for Hunter Biden.
Director of National Intelligence John Ratcliffe said Monday that Hunter Biden's laptop "is not part of some Russian disinformation campaign."
"Let me be clear: the intelligence community doesn't believe that because there is no intelligence that supports that," Ratcliffe said. "And we have shared no intelligence with Adam Schiff, or any member of Congress."
Ratcliffe went on to say it is "simply not true" and the laptop is "in the jurisdiction of the FBI.”
"The FBI has had possession of this," he said. "Without commenting on any investigation that they may or may not have, their investigation is not centered around Russian disinformation and the intelligence community is not playing any role with respect to that."
He added: "The intelligence community has not been involved in Hunter Biden's laptop."
