The manifesto allegedly written by Patrick Crusius, the 21-year-old white gunman charged with capital murder in the El Paso, Texas, shootings, lists political and economic grievances and predicts automation will lead to widespread job displacement, according to a review conducted by USA Today.
The 2,356-word document, posted to anonymous message board 8chan, appeared on the site less than a half-hour before the shooting. It was titled, “The Inconvenient Truth” and railed against immigration and announced that the attack was “a response to the Hispanic invasion of Texas.”
Crasius, a Plano Senior High School graduate, was enrolled in Collin College in the fall of 2017. He was a student there this spring, according to college officials who spoke with USA Today.
His father, John Bryan Crusius, is a licensed professional counselor who specializes in addiction recovery, according to USA Today.
The manifesto Crusius allegedly posted advocated for a plan to divide the nation into territories by race and warned of an imminent yet unspecified attack.
Crusius killed 20 and injured 27 in the El Paso Walmart shooting.
"I am in shock," said Crusius’ neighbor from Allen, Texas, Stephanie Ward.
"It’s scary to know I could live so close to someone with so much hate in his heart.”
