The Tea Party Patriots say they will hold their most important rally ever in Washington next week to protest the federal government's alleged persecution of conservatives.
Jenny Beth Martin, National Coordinator for Tea Party Patriots, said the June 19th rally is meant to send a message to lawmakers that Americans will no longer allow the Constitution to be trampled on.

"This may very well be the most important rally we have ever done. We can't let those people in DC, at the IRS, and apparently maybe even at the FBI, get away with this abuse of power," Martin told "The Steve Malzberg Show" on Newsmax TV.
"They cannot discriminate against us, and they cannot violate our Constitutional rights."
The Tea Party was jolted last month when it learned the Internal Revenue Service had targeted it and other conservative groups seeking non-profit status.
"The IRS discriminated against us because we had different political beliefs than those in power . . . This is so far removed from our First Amendment and our Constitution that it boggles the mind," Martin said.
She said the Tea Party scheduled the rally for next Wednesday on the west lawn of the Capitol beginning at 12 noon, instead of on a weekend, because it wants to face lawmakers.
"Congress needs to hear from us and Congress won't be there on the weekend and they act as if nothing happens on the weekend when they're not there," she said.
"It's inconvenient for those of us who work, who have a real life. I can't even stand being in Washington, D.C., but I'm going … This is a big deal; we need as many people in Washington as we possibly can.
