Police are warning students to be on their guard after a female student at Oakland University in Rochester, Michigan, was attacked last week.

The student's sister told WXYZ-TV that the student was attacked as part of the "knockout game," in which people are suckerpunched in an attempt to knock them out with one punch. The sister said the student suffered a concussion and neck sprain.

The attack occurred at 10 p.m. Thursday near the college library.

"Usually I feel really safe, but now I’m kind of more timid to walk around at night," student Heather Duncanson told the station.

The knockout game typically happens in large cities. It has reportedly been around for years, but received a spike in media coverage during the summer of 2013.
