CLARENCE, N.Y. (AP) — Friends and relatives of the 50 people who died in a Continental Connection plane crash outside Buffalo gathered at the scene of the disaster Saturday night to mark the second anniversary of the disaster.

The Buffalo News reports that a procession of families bundled themselves against the cold to carry candles to the site of the crash in Clarence, N.Y.

About 200 people attended. They placed 51 candles in white paper bags in the snow, one for each of the 49 passengers and crew, one for a person who died on the ground, and one more for an unborn child. One of the crash victims was pregnant.

Flight 3407 went down at 10:17 p.m. on Feb. 12, 2009. It hit a home as it approached Buffalo's airport.
