Poll: 41 Percent of Parents Say Kids Will Be Learning Only Online

Just seventeen percent of American parents say their children will be attending full, in-person schools in the fall, according to a new NBC/SurveyMonkey poll.

Here are highlights from the poll results released on Tuesday:

  • 41% of parents say their children will be learning only online.
  • 27% say their children will have a mix of in-person and online instruction.
  • 15% say they don’t know what their children’s school situation will be.
  • 22% rated the quality of education their children are receiving as an “A”, 31% grade the quality a “B”, 28% say “C”, 10% a “D” and 7% say “F”.
  • 66% say teachers are paid too little compared to 26% who say teachers are paid the right amount and 6% who say teachers are paid too much.

The poll, conducted Aug. 3-9, surveyed 44,601 people. The margin of error is plus or minus 1 percentage point.
