The results of two new polls show that the majority of Americans believe the news media is not honest and truthful.
In one survey conducted by "Full Measure With Sharyl Attkisson" and Rasmussen Reports, 37 percent of respondents said they don't trust the media at all and 32 percent said they trust the media "not very much."
Only 9 percent of those surveyed said they trust the media "a lot."
Another survey conducted by Media Research Center (MRC) and YouGov found that 69 percent of people who voted in last week's presidential election do not think the media is honest and truthful.
Other findings from the MRC/YouGov poll:
- Seventy-eight percent thought news coverage of the 2016 presidential campaign was biased.
- Fifty-nine percent thought the media sided with Democrat Hillary Clinton, compared to 21 percent who said so about Trump.
- Thirty-two percent of Clinton voters thought the media wanted Clinton to win the election.
- Ninety-seven percent said the media's bias did not affect who they voted for.
During her Sunday show, Attkisson said political corruption and a biased media landscape helped Trump win the presidency.
