Mitt Romney, coming off a week of public attacks against GOP front-runner Donald Trump, appeared on Tuesday night's "Jimmy Kimmel Live!" to continue the attacks and read "Mean Tweets" about himself.

"I have some tweets, these are real tweets by various parties, including your friend Donald Trump, so if you don't mind I'll hand you each one," Kimmel told the former GOP presidential nominee, reports ABC News

"It'll be painless, if you just go through them."

First in the list was from Trump himself:

"Got zero? Got zero?" Romney replied, to laughter from the audience. "The only people I know who got zero are the ones who paid twenty-five grand to be at Trump University."

In another tweet, a likely Trump supporter said that the front-runner is "trying to pull America back from the brink and freakin' Mitt Romney is playing with matches in the bathroom."

"I'm not touching that, I'll tell you that," Romney replied.

In yet another tweets, one Trump supporter said he met Romney in a bank a couple of months ago, and now he is "working on a time machine to go back in time and punch him in the throat."

Another said he or she would like to see Romney sitting in a children's ball pit, crying.

After reading a few more tweets, Kimmel asked Romney how much he would pay Trump to pull out of the race, to which Romney replied "There's not a right price for that. Donald Trump needs to get out of the race . . . Let's make people happy and let's have a candidate we can be proud of."

Trump, appearing on several morning news show Wednesday, told Fox News' "Fox & Friends" program that Romney's "mean tweets" turn was "demeaning" to the former GOP nominee, and called him a "wise guy."

"I thought it didn't look good," he said. "I don't think I would have done that. I don't think he should have been reading the tweets, negative tweets. Why is he doing that? What is he doing?

"I thought it was demeaning. Nothing to do with me. I thought it was demeaning to him . . . He should be trying to unify the party, not tear the party apart."
